The Training Course “Media Sapiens III – Creative Promotional Tools in Youth Work” will take place in 11-18 March 2012 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and will be a 6-day training course designed for young people organised by ASTRU Cluj and Life Zone Estonia in collaboration with EESTEC LC Sarajevo and Young Journalist Centre Moldova (CTJM).
The Training Team composed by Mihai Floran (Project Manager), Codruţa Fernea (Romania), Anna Korjakina (Estonia/UK), Denis Rudonja (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Alina Gîlcă (Rep. of Moldova) met during 27-29 January 2012 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in order to well prepare the Training Course and also select the participants.
The selection took into account the 408 valid applications that were registered for this Training Course. To insure equal chances for the selectees, the Team received a list where the only information that the selecting persons received were names, organisations, countries, gender, age and the answers to the three questions. The selectection was done throughly based on the motivation, expectations and contributions provided to select the participants. No discrimination on any ground was intended by the Training Team.
Due to financial and technical limitations, the Team selected a number of 29 applications (7,10% of the applicants) to be participants in the Training Course. Also 15 applications (3,70% of the applicants) were put on the waiting list for the Training Course to join in as soon as further funding is made available, someone decides to cancel participation or does not get his/her visa.
In the applicants that were selected, 18 are female applicants (62%) and 11 are male applicants (38%) coming from 20 countries from all over Europe, namely Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakoia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine. The average age of the participants is 24. 4 out of 29 participants require a visa to enter Romania (13,8%). The selected participants are required to confirm your participation by latest 5 February 2012. The list of confirmed participants will be published after all confirmations are done.
On the waiting list, 9 persons are female applicants (60%) and 6 are male applicants (40%) coming from 12 countries from all over Europe, namely Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Lithuania, Malta, Romania, Spain, Turkey, UK and Ukraine. The average age of the waiting list applicants is 23. 6 out of 15 require a visa to enter Romania (40%).
