The Training Course “Media Sapiens 9 – Fundraising Through Media” took place in Pärnu, Estonia, during 10 – 18th of August, 2014 with the participants from 12 countries from all over the Europe: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine. ASTRU Cluj was the organization representing Romania with 3 participants.
The training course has been organized by NGO Life Zone, which mission is promotion of development of the people including development of their powers, involvement into civil society process and protection of their rights and interests, and carried out with the support of the European Community programme Erasmus Plus.
The project has brought together experienced beneficiaries, newcomers and professionals to learn from practical exercises, to understand the overall communication process and develop competences, as well as to learn new communication tools in a creative and open setting.
During one week the participants were learning, sharing their knowledge, getting new experience, developing skills in fundraising with using media as an effective tool in the work of their organizations.
As a part of the project, the participants presented their own cultures, because such an event is a great opportunity to learn more about countries and traditions, about how different and similar we are at the same time. Also the participants took part in the Multicultural Pärnu and August Insomnia Festivals representing the countries they are coming from.
On the last day of the training, the President of Life Zone Anna Korjakina has firstly publicly presented Media Sapiens Network, which had been recently created and aims to bring together young media professionals, creative people who learn and teach, using media to deliver original quality content to audiences across multiple channels.
One of the most important goals of the Training Course was networking and establishing partner relationships between NGOs. It is important to mention that the participants had been worked actively on the development ideas for future cooperation, which means that very soon we are expecting new creative and innovative projects, events and activities all over the Europe.
Training Course “Media Sapiens 9 – Fundraising Through Media” has proved that with the active participation of young people, effective cooperation and inspiring environment, the great ideas may be implemented and make a big difference in the world.
